Big dreams, blue hands and global pen-pals: World Children’s Day at JAG
Join us as we celebrate World Children’s Day across our JAG services in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Ireland. This UNICEF global day of action for children, by children, marks the anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and reminds us that every child has the right to play, to be heard and to feel safe.
Our services come alive with colour and creativity as children take part in our Blue Day activities. From blue ribbons and socks to cupcakes and decorations, the day is filled with joy and connection.
The highlight of the day is our Global Penpal exchange. Across our services Children are writing letters and creating postcards to send to partner JAG services around the world, sharing their hopes for the future and what matters most to them. These messages will travel across borders and in the new year, children will experience the excitement of an unboxing day, opening letters from their global peers and discovering what other children dream about.
Children are also creating their own blue Handprints of Hope artworks, tracing their hand and adding a heartfelt wish for the future. These colourful creations will brighten our services and remind us of the big dreams held in little hands.
This activation brings our global JAG family together and amplifies children’s voices in a meaningful way. It is a celebration of childhood, creativity and the power of being heard.
Stay tuned for highlights from across our services as we share photos, artwork and reflections from children in the coming days.
Together, we are celebrating the magic of childhood and the power of big dreams.
