We’re excited to share some more wonderful news from Victoria - two of our services have been recognised for delivering exceptional care and learning experiences for children and families.

Kallista OSHClub: a place where children lead the way

It’s easy to see why Kallista OSHClub has achieved an Exceeding National Quality Standard rating. Their caring and passionate team have created a program where children’s ideas take centre stage. From Cooking Club to Garden Club, kids are leading activities, planning projects and building confidence along the way.

The dedicated educators at Kallista OSHClub celebrate culture and community, weaving First Nations perspectives into everyday experiences through storytelling, bush tucker and traditional games. Flexible routines and tailored support for individual needs help children feel calm and secure, while strong partnerships with the school and local community make this service feel like an extension of home.

The assessment noted:

“Educators fostered a child-led, collaborative and supportive multi-aged environment, creating rich opportunities for inquiry-based learning and creativity. Strong partnerships with families and the school community were evident, ensuring children’s voices remained central to the program.”

Danielle Seisun, JAG Regional Manager VIC, said:

“We’re proud to be part of the Kallista community, where children are empowered to lead, contribute, and feel a strong sense of belonging. Our team is passionate about extending the school’s wonderful community spirit and ensuring that every child feels included, valued, and connected.”

Toolern Vale OSHClub: growing together through creativity and care

Toolern Vale OSHClub has also been recognised for excellence, with Exceeding ratings in key areas. The team has built a warm, welcoming environment where children’s voices are heard and valued. Daily meetings and creative initiatives like the Adventure Box give kids the chance to shape their own experiences.

Sustainability is part of everyday life here - children care for worm farms, compost and gardens, learning about the environment while having fun. The service works closely with families and the school community, embedding cultural learning and First Nations perspectives into the program.

The assessment noted:

“Educators consistently demonstrated respectful and responsive relationships, listening and responding to children’s ideas and creating a program that reflects their interests, abilities and cultural diversity.”

Sarah Magowan, JAG Regional Director VIC, commented:

“Toolern Vale’s achievement reflects the team’s commitment to creating an environment where children feel genuinely heard, valued, and inspired to explore. The Exceeding rating reflects not only the quality of the program but the deep sense of purpose our educators bring every day. They’ve built a program that truly puts children first.”

Continuing to set a high standard of care

These achievements show what’s possible when passionate educators, families and schools work together. Every Exceeding rating is a celebration of the creativity, care and commitment that make our services special.
